THE FLYING SILOS ARE OFFICIALLY ON HIATUS As the late, great Harry Chapin said: "All my life's a circle; but I can't tell you why; season's spinning 'round again; the years keep rollin' by."
The band continues to face changes within our ranks as the years roll by... Several of our silos are very busy with their personal lives and their own musical journeys. Sean and Heather have decided to devote more time to developing their personal musical careers outside of the band. We wish them all the best and hope to be able to continue to collaborate with them in the future. Bill Gray has had a major life change as well as a major change in locale. He is now working for Harrah's Casino and is living in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area. He has decided to continue with the Flying Silos as soon as he can get things settled a bit in his work and personal life.
For these reasons we've decided to take a break this year and come back in 2012 better than ever. It's been a blast and we really appreciate the fans, the friends, the venues that we've played and the people that have believed in us. This is not goodbye, then, but just "we'll be back with the third set, right after this short break." See ya'll in 2012!
The Flying Silos Bill, Billy, Brad, and Rich
Flying Silos is a four piece band from
the greater metropolitan Des Moines area. They have played for over
10,000 people at their shows in the last 5 years. Granite City
recently reported attendance of 550 people at the Flying Silos last Mug
Club performance! The Flying Silos played their fourth consecutive
year at Stockman's Inn at the Iowa State Fair in 2010. Flying Silos plays a mix of classic
rock, country, and blues music and would love to play at your next
event! They are a "cover band" and play your favorite hits from the
greatest artists, but don't expect to hear anything just like the
record! The Silos come from very diverse musical backgrounds and each
member brings something unique to the band that adds their own special
twist to the songs.
Flying Silos is available for performances at
bars, restaurants, wineries, festivals, corporate events, town
celebrations, county fairs, weddings, anniversaries and private
parties. Flying Silos is taking bookings for the 2011 season and would
